SD Connector
Saving 10% of the PCB mounting space for an SD card connector, the SG5 model gives designers extra flexibility to optimise board layout. The new connector is a space-efficient push-push type that retains high user-friendliness and reliability, and supports full SD card functionality. The series will enable higher feature density in new mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras, personal computing products and a wide range of media players. Established SD connector features continue to be supported, including card insertion detection, lock/unlock detection structure for write protect, and the correct terminal contact sequence to enable hot plugging. For the end user, the audible click on insertion and removal, and friction locking to hold inserted SD cards, are also retained. It is also easy to assemble, with design features for automatic placement including a positioning boss for accuracy and repeatability. |
